COS 177: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

4 credits

Introduces artificial intelligence technologies through hands-on exploration and laboratory experimentation. Students learn fundamental Al concepts, create and test Al prompts, and conduct guided experiments to investigate how Al systems work. Develops foundational skills in Al interaction, data collection, scientific observation, and ethical Al use. Laboratory component includes systematic Al tool testing, performance measurement, and basic research activities designed for beginning students. Lecture with Lab. Every semester.
