NOR 421: Circumpolar World of the Arctic

3 credits

The environment, security, and economic stability of the  Circumpolar  World of the  Arctic is a strategic global imperative. Due to its location, environment, natural resources, and indigenous people, the  Arctic has risen to global importance for conservation and attention.  This course provides a  fundamental understanding of the complexity of the region by examining and analyzing its history, the land, and environment, indigenous people and culture, business and economies, security and governance, as well as an exploration of the future of the  Arctic. 3 hours of lecture.
