NUR 101: Foundations of Professional Nursing2 credits
This course will introduce the nursing student to professional nursing through foundational nursing concepts. These concepts will include the nursing process, professional and legal aspects of nursing practice, therapeutic communication, documentation, informatics, theory, research and evidence-based nursing practice. In addition to the topics listed above the student nurse will also
be introduced to the healthcare delivery system and financial reimbursement for care provided. Students will utilizes case studies to deepen their understanding and application of critical thinking, clinical judgment as applied to a person center care. Two hour lecture
