GIS 300: GIS Applications I with Lab

4 credits

An introduction to the principles and applications of geographic information systems (GIS). Covers the creation, representation, manipulation and analysis of spatial data in digital form and issues related to data, digital cartography, and output products. Lab exercises and a course project, expose students to actual data manipulation and GIS analysis.  Two-hour lecture, three-hour lab, and course project. Offered every Spring.

Prerequisite(s): Experience with Windows operating system, Sophomore standing or above.
Co-requisite(s): None.
