NUR 630: Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Theory I3 credits
This course focuses on the theoretical and clinical foundation of advanced practice nursing. Emphasis is placed on the management of acute and chronic health issues common to adult and geriatric patients. Students utilize clinical practice guidelines, evidence based research, and theories of safety and quality to ensure the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions and subsequent care equates to optimal patient care outcomes. Clinical experiences are required in a variety of direct patient care settings.
Prerequisite(s): Must be enrolled in the Graduate Master of Science in Nursing program or instructor’s permission. Co-requisite(s): None.
