NUR 660: Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Theory II3 credits
This course focuses on the progressive development of the adult/gerontology nurse practitioner, highlighting theoretical and clinical foundations. Emphasis is placed on the management of episodic acute care and exacerbations of chronic health issues. Students continue to utilize clinical practice guidelines, evidence-based research, and theories of safety and quality to develop plans of care for complex health issues. Clinical experiences are required in a variety of direct patient care settings to stress the importance of interdisciplinary teamwork.
Prerequisite(s): Must be enrolled in the Graduate Master of Science in Nursing program or instructor’s permission. Co-requisite(s): None.
