EDU 299: Multicultural Education

3 credits

An introduction to multicultural education for anyone who is working in a multicultural/bilingual context and/or interested in multiculturalism and bilingualism. It will present the different aspects of multiculturalism and multicultural education, explore innovative approaches to multicultural education practices in bilingual context, and develop a better understanding of living in a pluralistic society. The course will be interactive and will be based on realistic situations as well as students’ and in-service teachers’ own experiences and appreciation of multiculturalism and bilingualism.
