EDU 411: Teaching of Social Studies

3 credits

Designed to introduce the pre-service teacher to the content areas of the K-8 Social Studies curriculum. Pre-service teachers will focus on major themes in the six key social science disciplines of geography, history, anthropology, sociology, economics, and political science necessary to successful K-8 social studies instruction as defined by the Common Core State Standards and the K-8 social studies standards set by the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS).
